What does the apostille service for a diploma or educational certificate cost?
Fixed price 95 € including official fee and VAT. Return shipping extra from 4,15 €.
Do I need to send the original document?
Yes. We need the original document and a signed Vollmacht. You receive the form once we take on the work. The Vollmacht does not need to be notarised.
How long does the apostille process take?
Once we have the original document and the signed Vollmacht, we begin handling. The authority usually completes the apostille within two to four weeks. In some cases, it may take longer. We cannot influence how long the authority takes.
Can I send several educational certificates together?
Yes. You may send several educational documents together. Each document requires its own apostille process, so the fixed price applies per document. Multiple documents are not covered by a single order and are processed separately.
Does an apostille replace the recognition of my qualification?
No. An apostille confirms the authenticity of the document. Recognition of educational qualifications is a separate procedure decided by the foreign institution or authority.
Is pre-certification (Vorbeglaubigung) required for certificates or diplomas?
Often, yes. School certificates and university diplomas typically need to be pre-certified by the issuing school, university, or the relevant school supervisory authority before an apostille can be issued. We arrange this step for you as a separate service for 95 €.
Do I also need a translation?
That depends on the destination country and the authority where you will submit the document. Certified translations are not included in the fixed price.
Which educational certificates can be apostilled?
This depends on the specific document. Please describe your document as precisely as possible when sending your request. We review your request based on what you tell us.
What if I no longer have the original document?
In many cases, we can obtain a new copy of your document from the issuing institution. This service is available as a separate order (145 €) and is not included in the fixed price of the apostille.
Which countries require an apostille?
An apostille is used in countries that recognise the Hague Apostille Convention. Whether additional requirements apply depends on the destination country and the specific procedure.
How do I send you the original document?
You can drop the original off in person at our Bonn office, send it by post or DHL, or arrange courier collection on request. We need the original document and the signed Vollmacht for the apostille.
What happens after I send a request?
After you send a request, we review it and get back to you. You receive the Vollmacht and the instructions for sending the original once we take on the work. We begin handling once we have both the original document and the signed Vollmacht.
