Once we take on the work, you sign the Vollmacht and send us the original. The Vollmacht does not need to be notarised.

What the fixed price includes
The apostille fixed price breaks down as follows. For a Police Clearance Certificate (Führungszeugnis), mandatory pre-certification is added.

If an apostille is not possible
If our review already shows that an apostille is not possible, we do not charge for handling or the official fee. If the competent authority refuses the application only after it has been filed, we charge 45 € including VAT per document for document review and application preparation, plus any official fees that were actually incurred and cannot be refunded.
Return shipping of the original is still charged at the method you choose. In-person collection has no return-shipping cost.

Who issues the apostille?
The apostille is issued by the competent public authority. Apostille Expert handles the process for you.

Do I pay in advance?
There is no upfront payment. We send the invoice after the work is done. We return or hand over the apostilled document after full payment.
How do I send the original?
You can drop the original off in person at our Bonn office, send it by post or DHL, or arrange courier collection on request. We need the original document and the signed Vollmacht for the apostille.
How long does the apostille take?
Once we have the original document and the signed Vollmacht, we begin handling. The authority usually completes the apostille within two to four weeks. In some cases, it may take longer. We cannot influence how long the authority takes.
